This weekend we are planning to spend our entire Saturday baking for our friends, neighbors and co-workers. Nothing says I love you more than a giant pile of cookies (well, cash is nice too, but cookies come from the heart [right?]). Here are ten cookies that everyone will be sure to enjoy, fit everyone’s tastebuds and will be super impressed with your baking skills.
These cookies from Smitten Kitchen are a crowd pleaser! Make them a little more festive by using Christmas sprinkles (see below for a variety). Also, if you want to create slightly less work for yourself nix the jam part and just dip one cookie into the chocolate and sprinkles!
Who doesn’t love chocolate and peanut butter? This classic is a sure win and they are super easy to make and don’t require a ton of ingredients. If you want a twist, try these, chocolate with peppermint hugs.
My sister (the cookie queen) made these recently and I could not stop eating them. They are the perfect flavor combo.
Basic, but tried and true and easy if you are a novice. Be sure to buy the holiday m&ms to make them more festive!
soft white chocolate chip cranberry cookies
A little festive thanks to the cranberries. Adding a little orange zest to the dough can really bring out the cranberry, too.
I LOVE a mint cookie, especially one made with andes mints! These ones are just as easy as the peanut butter kiss cookies with just one extra step of spreading the mint over the cookie.
Add a little diced candied ginger to these to make them even better!
white chocolate candy cane cookies
These cookies look really festive and always get a reaction from the people we give them to. I also like to make them with dark chocolate chips instead of the white chips – sometimes white chocolate is a little too sweet for me.
Full on holiday flavor in a cookie! I’m not the biggest fan of drinking eggnog, but I do like it in a cookie!
classic sugar cookies with buttercream
I think these are more fun to decorate than eat! Don’t forget the fun cookie cutters and food coloring!
Oh, and don’t forget the sprinkles!
