almost friday

some of my favorite recent finds

Here a few of my favorite finds as we head into the weekend. Below are a couple of good staples for your closet, a few beauty products that I am currently loving, a few home items and a favorite snack.

The Sweater Blazer

I could not love this sweater more. It is perfect for work, but also for date night or Saturday morning soccer games. It’s slightly tailored and honestly goes with everything. I wear this multiple times during the week and always get a ton of compliments on it. I am convinced it is the perfect sweater.

Rosemary Mint Hand Soap

This hand soap smells SO GOOD. All of our guests always ask where they can get it. I find that it’s a good gender neutral scent that just smells clean. Plus it comes in a pretty glass dispenser that you can repurpose. And it’s on sale right now.

Lavender Peppermint Lotion

This lotion seems like it might smell weird, but trust me it doesn’t. Plus its not very strong so if your partner has a sensitive nose you will be okay wearing it bed, which is exactly when you want to put it on. The two scents help you to relax to fall sleep. I discovered it when we stayed at a B & B in Napa and they had it for their toiletries. I was sad we didn’t stay longer so that I could steal more of it, but totally bought the lotion right away when we got home.

Fruit Leathers

I’m the queen of fruit leathers. I always have them in my purse and it’s my go-to before football practice. People are always introducing me to new ones to try. My 3 y/o neighbor introduced me to the Pure strawberry-banana bars recently – they are his favorite (and mine). My husband found the Trader Joe’s Grape-Mango Fruit Buttons on a recent trip (love how thing they are – like an old school fruit roll-up), and the Apple Nature’s Bandit’s have been a long-time favorite of mine – plus they have veggies in them, too.

Match Boxes

Candle season is upon us (but really when is it not?) and my favorite thing next to a candle is a pretty box of matches. I just bought the color swatch box for the family room. Plus when you use them up you can just refill them with cheap ones from the grocery store to reuse the box!

Transport Tote

I am the type of person who carries everything with me at all times – laptop, charger, lunch, giant water bottle, bag full of personal items, and the list goes on and on. I recently bought this tote bag and love that it holds everything that I need to bring with me.

Rose Hip Serum

This little bottle of serum is a moisturizer and an anti-ager in one. It has been an awesome addition to my skin care routine lately. You can certainly put it under your moisturizer, but I use it on its own before I go to bed. I have seen a huge difference in my skin (smaller pores, too) since I started using it and it’s under $10! You can also use it with this Vitamin C lotion for more anti-aging properties, but also for brighter skin.

Cocoa Butter Lip Balm

No other chapstick compares. It technically is not labeled a such, but I use it all the time as one. It makes your lips so soft, slightly shiny and smelled like cocoa. It’s a win-win-win.

The Perfect Rain Coat

Someone I worked with once gave me a great piece of advice when traveling… buy a really good raincoat with a hood. One that packs easy and that is attractive – that is this jacket. I wear mine ALL the time. It has a pretty generous cut so size down, but even sizing down it still allows you to wear a sweater under it. It keeps you dry, has lots of pockets and a really good hood. It’s such a great investment piece.
